Within the project “Trade union in the protection of employees’ rights”, the final conference has been held in Leskovac on 14th December 2017. The conference dealt with summing up the results from this year’s project and planning the activities for the next year. One-day training for members of the Main Board of the Nezavisnost Construction branch trade union was held in Belgrade. The aim of the training was to present the results of the project activities and to gather proposals for the next year, as well as to make the participants familiar with the announced changes of labor relations and the possibilities to protect the workers’ rights. The training is carried out within the project "Improvement of the capacity of trade unions for the protection of labor rights of construction workers in Serbia", which implemented by Nezavisnost Construction branch trade union. Workshop "Law in the service of trade unions" was held in Belgrade on December 6, 2017. During the workshop, the views of the trade unions regarding the announced changes in the labor legislation and the adoption of a new set of labor laws have been presented. The final event in the framework of the project "The right skills according to the employers’ needs", which is implemented by the Business Development Center Kragujevac. The topic of the conference was "The position of youth in the labor market" during which the results of the project, including the Training-Practice-Work program, Summer internship program and research on the needs of employers in Kragujevac, Cacak and Kraljevo were presented. The final conference of the project was held on 30th November Kruševac. The final conference was also attended by representatives of the Career guidance teams of secondary schools in Krusevac, who presented their annual work plans for the school year 2017/2018. Due to the demand of the employers in Vrnjacka Banja for catering sector interns at the beginning of the tourist season, the National Employment Service selected in total 46 candidates for a program of professional internship. Professional internships have been implemented within the project ‘Focus on youth – Establishing sustainable policy framework for organizing internships for the unemployed youth’, which is implemented by CATUS Vrnjacka Banja. The Fair of Occupations and Secondary Schools has been held in Bijeljina on 28th November 2017. The exhibitors were secondary schools from Bijeljina, which presented over 50 occupations. The special emphasis was on the occupations, which are in demand on the labour market. The fair is a part of the project ‘Preparing the youth for success’, which is implemented by Youth Communication Center from Banja Luka. Read more
Conference Youth2Business " Youth and Work"  was organized on November 25, 2017. The aim of this event is to connect young people with business representatives and thus enable them to exchange the experience, knowledge and information with successful people who represent a model of good business practice in Serbia. The importance of organizing this event was indicated by great interest of young people who had the opportunity to talk with the lecturers on the following topics: How to write a good CV; Significance of networking; Advantages and disadvantages of own business and work in the company, as well as Preparing for a business interview.   The conference is part of this year's project of Belgrade Open School (BOS) "Good-quality services for better employability of young people ".   Read more
Belgrade Open School (BOS) organized a conference "National Annual Conference on Career Guidance and Counseling" on 24th November 2017. The conference was accredited by the Institute for the Advancement of Upbringing and Education and gathered over 130 teachers and teaching associates from all over Serbia. The aim of the conference was to improve the quality of career guidance and counseling services in secondary schools so that all young people receive equal and high quality support in their transition from education to the world of labour. The conference was closed by the exhibition "Workshops for career development of secondary school students in Serbia", which was developed by teachers and teaching associates from 12 secondary schools. The conference was also an opportunity to exchange good practice experiences from secondary schools. The conference was organized within the project "Good-quality services for better youth employment", which aims to support the improvement of youth employability and life-long learning through improving the sustainability and quality of career guidance and counseling systems, and the project is implemented by Belgrade Open School. One-day training for members of trade union organizations from the company level, targeted by project activities was conducted in Belgrade. The aim of the training was to improve the knowledge of participants in the field of strategies and tactics of collective bargaining. The participants analyzed specific situations (case studies) through group workshops. The training is carried out within the project "Improving the capacity of trade unions for the protection of labor rights of construction workers in Serbia", which is implemented by Nezavisnost Construction branch trade union. Zenica Fair of Occupations and Secondary Schools was held in November 2017. All high schools from Zenica participated in the fair and presented to the students of the elementary schools final grades  their secondary schools and respective occupations. The fair is part of the project "Preparing youth for success" which is implemented by NGO “Zora” - Zenica. Read more

The Handbook "Guide on good practises in peaceful dissolution of work disputes“ has been developed "Social partners together for increasing the visibility of extra-judicial protection of labor rights - peaceful dissolution of labor disputes", which is implemented by the Initiative for Development and Cooperation (IDC) . Within the publication, there is a review of the practice and problems in the field of peaceful resolution of labor disputes, which was supplemented by a review of the work of the Republic Agency for Peaceful Dissolution of Labor Disputes of Serbia.  The publication also contains 7 case studies on the resolution of individual labor disputes and 9 case studies on the resolution of collective labor disputes that, based on experience from practice, were contributed by the conciliators / arbitrators of the Agency.   Read more
The final conference of this year's project was held in Vrnjacka Banja. The conference was attended by representatives of local authorities, interns and employers, as well as the representatives of the media. During the conference, the results of evaluation of the measure of professional internship conducted in Vrnjacka Banja were presented. The final conference has been organized within the project ‘Focus on youth – Establishing sustainable policy framework for organizing internships for the unemployed youth’, which is implemented by CATUS Vrnjacka Banja. Workshop ‘Peaceful dissolution of labour disputes in practice’ has been organized in Uzice. The workshop is a part of the project ‘Social partners together for increasing the visibility of extra-judicial dissolution of labour disputes – peaceful dissolution of labour disputes’, which is implemented by Initiative for Development and Cooeration in cooperation with trade unions CATUS and Nezavisnost and Serbian Employers’ Association with the support of Republic Agency for Peaceful Dissolution of Labour Disputes. The aim of the workshop was to make the representatives of trade unions, employers and employees realize the advantages of peaceful dissolution of labour disputes, through simulations led by the experienced arbitres. In November, a two-day training for primary school pedagogues from Tuzla on the topic of career information, counseling and guidance has been organized. The workshop was attended by pedagogues from elementary schools from Tuzla and it provided them with new knowledge and methods in the field of career guidance and counseling, which will be possible to apply in the future work with teachers and children. The workshop is part of the project "Preparing youth for success", which is implemented by NGO “Zora” - Zenica. Read more
In the framework of the project "The right skills according to the employers’ needs", which is implemented by Business Development Center Kragujevac, the research was carried out in three cities - Kragujevac, Cacak and Kraljevo. The research covered 4 sectors: food industry, textile industry, construction sector and metal sector. Consultative meetings were held with key local actors on research findings, followed by analysis of the problem in question - the existing gap between the needs of the economy and the presence of qualified staff in the market. The sixth two-day training for the union members from Leskovac region was held on 11th October 2017 at Vlasina Lake. The training was focused on the significance of collective bargaining and the advantages of having collective agreements at company level.   The training was organized within the project "Trade Union in the Protection of Employees’ Rights", which is implemented by CATUS Leskovac. During the training, they had the opportunity to discuss the factors that influence the choice of occupations, as well as the new developments in the modern concept of career. Read more
